Cocktail Bar: Gordon’s Apple Tart

Friday 18 October 2013 by

After the great success of last week’s warming cocktail, I started to explore more. We have lots of gin in the house – of course – and the Gordon’s website is full of cocktail suggestions (including a cranberry twist on a G&T), but it was the Apple Tart that caught my eye.

A spicy, festive cocktail, this is one I can see at dinner parties right through to the New Year.

Cocktail, Apple Tart, Gordon's Gin, Crabbie's ginger beer, Apple juice, AlcoholYou will need:

  • Pestle and mortar
  • Pan
  • Teaspoon
  • Rocks glass
  • Ice cubes

  • 50ml gin
  • Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Half a teaspoon of sugar
  • 20ml apple juice
  • Ginger beer
  • 2 squeezes of lemon
  • 1 fresh apple

Apple Tart, Cocktail, Gordon's gin, AlcoholHow to make it:

Grind the cinnamon and sugar into a powder with the pestle and mortar, and thinly slice the apple. Dust the powder on the apple and sauté in a pan (without oil or butter) until lightly golden on each side. Sprinkle cinnamon in the bottoms of a rocks glass, add the gin, fill up with ice cubes and then add the apple juice, topping up with ginger beer. Serve with a slice of the apple. It’s spicy and warming and oh-so delicious. I like to leave the apple slice soaking until the end before eating it!
