Elizabeth Dunn SS’14
Amongst the blog updates, website newsletters, junk and bumf that pours in to my inbox, I get the occasional gem. I’ve had amazing press invites (Golden Frog PR at Whisky Mist anyone?) – which I wish I could attend more of but my full time job dictates 24-hours-notice is simply not enough – and then some absolutely gorgeous press releases about new collections that make me want to weep that I haven’t won the lottery yet.
Elizabeth Dunn’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection is just one of those. Handmade shoes and accessories, Elizabeth Dunn graduated from the shoe college Cordwainers at London College of Fashion to create her own brand of beautiful shoes, before partnering with sister Danielle Needle to make a perfectly partnered accessories brand. She deliberately avoids seasonable trends to create timeless pieces that focuses on femininity and classic styling.
This season’s collection focuses on two main colourways – black and a splash of leopard print (the “Onyx” range) and red (the “Crimson” range). Cut-out, peep-toed and studded and buckled, these fierce shoes are perfect for the step into the warmer months (yes, I’m already dreaming of summer). Pick matching belt bags or shoppers for a classy, chic look.
My favourites? The “Stride” (£255, above) and “March” (£235, below) shoes… in both Onyx and Crimson for anyone writing my Christmas list please.
I think I’m in love…
