Mulberry Cancels LFW Show

Wednesday 27 November 2013 by

Every London Fashion Week I look forward to one show the most (although I adore them all). Mulberry. I’m perfectly okay having an obsession with this brand – they used owls in their latest bags campaign, Cara Delevingne regularly graces the catwalk, and their distinctly British designs are eye-wateringly chic.

So imagine my panic when I hear that Mulberry will not be showing at next February’s London Fashion Week… the FIRST fashion week I am aiming to go to! I had to sit down and calm down.

The brand released in a statement that they will not be showing at February’s London Fashion Week as they continue their hunt for a new creative director. Director of six years, Emma Hill, left in September, and although huge names such as Erdem Moralioglu, Charlotte Dellal and Mary Katrantzou have already been linked to the post, nothing is certain.

But the panic didn’t last too long, when they also announced that they would not be completely absent from LFW, and the exact nature of how and where will be “released in the near future”. I’m waiting with bated breath.

What do you think of Mulberry cancelling the catwalk?
Who do you think will be the next creative director?
