Christmas Present Ideas 1
There are only two more weekends before Christmas, which means panic-stations for those late on the Christmas-present-shopping. But never fear! In the first of a series of posts, here’s a quick selection of last-minute pressies you can pick up for stocking fillers…
If you’re looking for the ideal present for a TV-binger, pick up some box sets. Try Breaking Bad 1-3 (£17) for those new to the series, or Game of Thrones 1-2 (£26) for anyone who fancies an epic saga. Any Whovians will want the 50th anniversary Doctor Who episode – The Day of the Doctor (£9.25).
Hands-down one of the biggest box office hits this year was Star Trek: Into Darkness (£10), and is an ideal stocking filler for anyone who loves sci-fi or action (or Bendedict Cumberyum… I mean Cumberbatch).
Eleanor Catton’s tome, The Luminaries (£18.99), won the Booker Prize this year and is the ideal gift for the avid, and dedicated, reader. For those not up for such a feat of word-wrangling, try the beautiful And the Mountains Echoed (£12.99) by Khaled Hosseini.
For anyone who loves to create in the kitchen (like me), grab The Flavour Thesaurus (18.99), Lorraine Pascale’s A Lighter Way to Bake (£20), or Nigel Slater’s Eat – The Little Book of Fast Food (£26).
It’s always hard to pick good music for a present. Which is why Radio 1’s Live Lounge 2013 collection (£10.99) is perfect. A lovely blend of music, with unusual twists on popular hits.
Beauty gift sets are always welcome in my opinion. Try giving the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Gift Set (£40); this cult hit beauty set will always be popular. If you’re feeling especially generous, try the £300 Elizabeth Arden Holiday Makeup and Skincare Gift Set! Alternatively, you can easily grab the No7 The Skincare Selection for under £20.
The SONY ICF-CL75iP (£119.31) is an iPod/iPhone dock, photo frame, and clock radio (with calendar) all in one. This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen! Not only that, but it’s down to £69.99 on Amazon.
