Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D episode ten – The Bridge

*mild spoilers alert*

Remember Mike Peterson from the pilot? Well, he’s back, and less explode-y than last time. But so is Centipede, and this time they mean business. Edison Po – the prisoner who Raina (the woman in the flowery dress) visited a few episodes ago – is broken out of prison by some super soldiers, and sets of a chain of events that concludes in one of the more dramatic mid-season finales I’ve come across (though, as my Searching for SuperWomen post explained the other day, they’ve been pretty intense this year).

After the prison break, Coulson calls in Peterson (who is currently at S.H.I.E.L.D training camp) and they set off to discover exactly what Centipede is up to, and exactly who The Clairvoyant is. But Raina has other ideas, and puts in a visit to Peterson’s son, just to make sure he complies with them.

I won’t say any more than that – otherwise we step from mild spoilers to WOAH HUGE SPOILER AND NOW YOU’VE RUINED IT.

This was an insanely intense episode; from the ongoing drama around Skye’s parents (and May’s odd reluctance to help), May and Ward’s secret relationship, Peterson’s kidnapped son and a crazy, super-rich, super-resourceful and super-powerful super-villain organisation on the loose.

In fact, I felt a bit exhausted at the end of watching.

I loved this, and I feel like we’re tickling the beginning of the truth about Coulson’s return and Skye’s parents. Plus, I have a feeling Centipede are going to be hanging around for a really long time. It’s S.H.I.E.L.D’s Big Bad and it’s a good’un.

I’m still  not ready for the mid-season break though. I need more!
