Cocktail Bar: Poinsettia

Friday 20 December 2013 by

What could be more festive than a champagne cocktail!? This is one of my favourites – the blend of Cointreau and cranberry juice makes it Christmassy and oh-so yummy. Meet the Poinsettia. You could give it an extra kick with tequila or vodka, but this is a lush cocktail perfect as-is, just enough for those Christmas parties this weekend!

Cocktail, Alcohol, Champagne, Cranberry juice, Cointreau

You will need:

  • A chilled champagne flute
  • A sturdy hand to pop the champage cork!

Ingredients:

  • Champagne
  • 15ml Cointreau
  • 90ml cranberry juice

Cocktail, Alcohol, Champagne, Cointreau, Cranberry juice, Christmas

How to make it:

Pour the Cointreau and cranberry juice in to the chilled champagne flute and stir thoroughly. Top it up with champagne – be careful of the fizz! If you want to be super-festive, garnish with some frozen cranberries.

As a tester of all cocktails mixed in the House of Blog, I recommend this one. A great slurp before Christmas lunch. Not just tested but launched fully into the household! Repeats planned for 2014!
