Meet Louisa Allen, the 24-year-old singer from Southampton, also known as Foxes.

You may recognise her dulcet tones if you are a Gossip Girl fan, as her debut single featured on the soundtrack (Youth – it hit number 12 in the charts last September). But if you’ve never heard of her before, gird those proverbials and get ready to fall in love…

She’s not only worked with Fall Out Boy, Rudimental (that’s her on Right Here) and Zedd, but has had Youth remixed by the likes of Danny Howard, Nate Goldsmith and Maze & Masters, and had millions of hits on her Soundcloud and YouTube channel.

I discovered her when I downloaded the iTunes free song of the week (it was Holding Onto Heaven, now my morning alarm), and have since found to my delight that her album is due in March this year.

Her forthcoming album, Glorious, was revealed on 4th November on her Instagram, and promises 11 tracks (16 on the deluxe). Of the album, Foxes has said it has a “dark streak… as well as a pop element that runs through it” – something which sounds familiar if you’ve heard her music already.

With sharp electro-pop, haunting piano and a deliciously folk-y voice (her Facebook describes it as a “dichotomy of soaring pop melodies anchored by melancholia”), Foxes is on to a winning streak.

Expect to hear a lot more from her in 2014!

You can pre-order her album on iTunes now.

She’s great. Holding on to Heaven is still my alarm. Makes me feel so good.
