Cocktail Bar: Blueberry Mojito
How are you getting on with sober January? Good… well, to help you cope, how about a fresh and delicious blueberry mojito mocktail to see you through? So glamorous, you could drink it in a cocktail bar and no one would know!
This is a bright and cheery mojito to banish those January blues – and remember, scroll to the bottom of the post to add the alcohol.
You will need:
- Tall glass (don’t do what I did and choose a too-small glass and have to transfer!)
- Crushed ice
- Mint sprig, lemon twist and/or fresh blueberries to garnish (all totally optional!)
- Handful of mint leaves
- 15ml freshly squeezed lime juice
- 15ml pure cane sugar syrup
- 85ml blueberry juice
- Soda water to top up
How to make it:
Put the mint leaves in the glass and bruise slightly. Add the lime juice, sugar syrup and half the blueberry juice. Not sure what sugar syrup is or where to find it? Use this handy do-it-yourself sugar syrup recipe instead!
Now half-fill the glass with crushed ice and give it a good stir. Fill the remainder of the glass with more ice and stir again. Top up with the remaining juice and finish with soda water. Garnish with your choice of mint, lemon, blueberries, or all three! I used some frozen blueberries myself, to keep it simple…
Add the alcohol:
As with any mojito, this is a perfect rum cocktail. Get a good quality Cuban rum for a truly authentic mojito taste. Jenna at Live, Eat, Run has the best alcoholic blueberry mojito recipe (and try her cherry mojitos too!)
