Cocktail Bar: Alabama Slammer

Friday 28 February 2014 by

This is a fairly familiar cocktail – at least in name. The Alabama Slammer is said to have originated from Brett Favre, a famous quarterback, but students have been drinking it since the 1980s. It has many variants, not least of which as a shot in bars and as a pitcher in places like TGI Fridays. The most common form now is the one you get in a Collins glass…

How to make it:

As with all cocktails, pour your ingredients over ice and shake well. Some recipes require the addition of sweet and sour mix for extra fizzle, but this one has a snap all of its own. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry. This cocktail comes with a hefty kick, so I really do recommend drinking responsibly!
