Fred Said, Cocktail, Alcohol, Apricot liqueur

When I think of cocktails, the taste of apricots doesn’t immediately spring to mind. But when I saw this recipe for a Fred Said, I decided to give it a go. And it ain’t half bad! The sweetness of the apricot liqueur and apple juice is set off nicely with the bourbon and lemon juice, making it a delightful sweet-and-sour cocktail to sup.

  • Cocktail shaker

How to make it:

Put all ingredients in to the cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain in to your martini glass, and serve with an orange twist. The Fred Said is a quirky mix of sweet (apricot and apple) and sour (lemon juice and bourbon), and leaves a refreshing aftertaste. The cool lemon colour makes it a cocktail for early evening barbecues and Mediterranean-style dinners.
