Cocktail Bar: Apple ‘Fran’gipane

As part of my birthday present from my cousin, she included this rather delicious-looking cocktail in my card. The Apple ‘Fran’gipane (get it?) is based on the taste of the popular frangipane dessert – hence the Disaronno.

How to make it:

Put all your ingredients together over ice and serve. I would recommend an apple slice to garnish if you so wish, but with such a sweet, clean drink you’re not really going to need anything. This is quite definitely a liquid version of a frangipane dessert – apple and warming marzipan, this is perhaps a slightly more autumnal tasting drink, which is perfect for the nights that are starting to close in (September is just around the corner, though I hate to admit it). I can also see this working warmed up – gently heat the ingredients until steaming (don’t boil) and serve in a mug. Just right for Bonfire Night. But then, I just KNEW that a cocktail named after me would not only be sweet and more-ish, but be suitable for all weathers too!
