‘Tis the season and all that. This month, I will be posting some festive cocktails to whet your appetite for the Christmas season (remember that divine poinsettia from last year?) Well, this time we’re returning with some fizz – the Cointreau fizz is a delicious blend of sweet and sour to tingle the tastebuds.

You will need:

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Highball
  • Ice
  • Orange blossom to garnish

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Cointreau
  • 15ml fresh lime juice
  • 50ml soda water

How to make it:

Over ice, pour the lime juice and Cointreau into the shaker and shake well (if you have a metal shaker, until it is frosted). Strain into the glass and top up with soda water. Garnish with the orange blossom (I used the last of my orchid flowers).

The sweetness of the Cointreau and sharpness of the lime juice and soda water is a lovely mix, with the fizziness getting in to your nose. One to sip daintily!
