Beauty Review: Clinique Chubby stick

Amongst all my other sales purchases and beauty blow-out, I picked up a new shade to add to my collection of Clinique chubby sticks. These fabulous lip crayons are a cult hit for good reason- with brilliant lasting power, beautiful shades, and the promise of super-soft, moisturised lips to boot, they are worth every penny of their £17 price tag. The range has since expanded from lips to cheek stains (at a slightly pricier £19) and eye tints, meaning you could fill your make up bag with chubby sticks and barely want for a thing! This time I went for the chubby stick intense moisturizing lip colour balm in Grandest Grape (08), an autumnal plum colour with touches of red to soften. I’m often nervous of too-dark shades on my lips because I have quite red skin, but the beauty of the stick is that it allows you to build up the colour to your preferred depth, rather than slapping on a rich purple without choice. I love how soft it makes my lips feel (none of that chapped, dried-out feel from lipsticks), and the stick allows for a precision application, meaning no super-pout for me. Honestly, most people never look back once they have picked up a chubby stick and it’s easy to see why. Although I’m sceptical about the eye and cheek colours (perhaps too sticky?), I can see how they appeal. I’m a hardcore fan of this cult product, from its easy application to its easy transportation (just throw it in your bag or pocket and go!) and there is a colour out there for everyone.

Do you use chubby sticks? What do you think of the cheek and eye tints?

  1. I love these! I have quite a few of them, all different shades. The colors are gorgeous and you can mix different colors for even better shades!
