A close companion of the Bronx martini, this week’s cocktail is a fruity, gin-infused drink called the Abbey martini

You will need:

  • Chilled cocktail glass
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Ice


  • 70ml dry gin
  • 35ml Martini Rosso
  • 35ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 3 dashes of Angostura bitters

How to make it:

Like most cocktails it’s as straightforward as shaking the ingredients together over ice and straining in to your chilled glass. Garnish with a thin twist of orange peel if need be. This is a citrus-y martini that is strictly for the gin martini lovers out there, because it’s got quite the kick. The Martini Rosso takes the edge off the sharpness of the gin, but it does take a little getting used to (I ended up adding a little more orange juice to take the edge off).
